“Identifying and inviting Hispanic leaders, that are committed to making Colorado a state where the concerns of the Hispanic community surrounding the future of our state, our communities, and the education of our children is vital to our cause. The Hispanic values of Faith, Family, and Freedom are the founding principles of Colorado.”
Greg Lopez - President / CEO CHR
Our Heritage
Hispanics have been a part of the historical fabric of Colorado for numerous generations. The word “Colorado” is a Spanish word that means the color “red”. Hundreds of years before there was the American cowboy, there was the vaquero, an expert horseman who could adeptly herd cattle and whose skills with a lasso were legendary. First trained by the Spaniards who arrived in 1519, on land later known as Mexico, the original vaqueros were largely Indigenous American men who were trained to wrangle cattle on horseback.
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
— Henry Ford (1863-1947)
The political influence and economic power of the Hispanic community is growing and will continue to grow. Forming coalitions and alliances with community organizations and by finding common ground in fighting for the rights of parents, quality education for children, small businesses, and fighting against the overreaching of government will help stop Colorado from becoming California. As we seek to restore God back into the public square, into every aspect of civic society and into the hearts and minds of our children, we must extend the welcome mat and understand the concerns and desires of the Hispanic community.
Our Mission
To educate and inform the Hispanic community on how to get involved with civic engagement; how to bring about social improvements on issues pertaining to Faith, Family and Freedom.
Our team works to improve the image of what being conservative means and to promote a worldview that appeals to Hispanic voters. Colorado’s population is growing quickly, and Hispanics are the fastest growing demographics.
Hispanic Voter Affiliation by Party
The Hispanic community is one of the most ignored, marginalized, and under-represented communities in Colorado. To combat this adversity, CHR seeks to interact with Hispanic communities across all 64 counties at the most fundamental level by hosting town hall meetings, enhancing outreach and voter registration efforts, and recruiting individuals to build a strong infrastructure of volunteers across the state.

With each session of the Colorado General Assembly passing over 500 legislative bills, the state government has become the number one threat to America’s founding values of Faith, Family, and Freedom. The Hispanic population in Colorado is roughly 1.2 million which equates to about 22% of the state’s total population. One of every 5 individuals in Colorado is Hispanic. The Hispanic community lacks awareness of how their elected representatives are voting on these legislative bills and how these bills are negatively impacting their quality of life. CHR is committed to spearheading all efforts pertaining to educating the Hispanic community on how to effectively engage in the political process.
Get Involved
If you care about the future of Colorado, get involved in our efforts to engage with the Hispanic community. Don’t worry about being Hispanic or not. If you like tacos you are one of us. We welcome all volunteers regardless of skill level. We will tap into your strengths, and we’ll teach you all the skills you need to know to effectively engage with your Hispanic neighbors. Become a member of CHR at whatever level you are comfortable with as this is vital to our growth and overall success in stopping Colorado from becoming California and making Colorado, Colorado Again.
